About THE PLAY

Hamlet has it all.  He is a prince, heir to a kingdom and a fortune, and living abroad as he pleases. Then, his world stops spinning. He returns home to find his father dead, his mother re-married, and the life he knew and kingdom he loved disintegrating before him.  As he struggles to make sense of this new world, will he flee?  Or will he turn and fight?

Theatre for Humanity (NYC) and Virginia Shakespeare Festival (Williamsburg, VA) join forces to bring you one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays.  Adapted by Marianne Savell, this 90-minute retelling of the classic tale has it all: love, murder, revenge, and an ending you won't soon forget.
